Our first Cairn
Jonas, then eight, wanted a dog of his own and started to save money  for it. We, the parents chose the breed. In a Hannoveran horse stud farm we met a curly  tough little guy who without fear ran in and out the horse boxes with an empty tin of liver paste in his mouth. It was a Cairn. This was the breed we chose and the one we have kept on to all these years.
Jonas put a pot on the kitchen table and a sign on it saying: MONEY FOR EMMA. Everyone had to pay their contribution. A few years later we were "allowed to" buy a bitch from Karen Schmidt, kennel Snorrehus.
Emma entered our lives.

When Emma was one year old we entered her to SKK.s exhibition in Malmö. Jonas himself didnīt dare to show his dog, so his ten yer old little sister Louise, did it instead. She has allways been interested in winning.
She did not know much about exhibitions but her mother told her to walk into the ring and look as if both she and the dog were the most beautiful and absolutely the best ones.
Louise didnīt  understand English then. The judge, Mrs Somerfield from England, led her to the first place. Believe it or not, Emma even conquered a cert at her first exhibition.
Now we were even more interested and Louise also wanted a dog of her own, so we mated Emma.
When it was time for Emma to deliver we put Emma and Louise in the bathroom telling Louise to fetch us from our daily work in the stables when it was time.
Two hours later we were back in the house and then were met by a very proud Louise and an even prouder Emma. With the assistance from Louise, Emma had given birth to five healthy puppies. All the placentas were thoroughly put on the toilet seat.

A kennel was born !
